Thanks for taking the time to visit my website. When people ask me why I have entered this race, I tell them “to whom Don Curtismuch is given, much is expected.” Being involved in most areas of North Florida for so many years, I always had a strong desire to serve all of the people of District 10. As the campaign progresses I hope that you will see that I am a man who speaks from the heart, who is not running to serve the special interests, and who is a man that has the capability and desire to serve the people of Florida House District 10.

Our District needs the leadership and representation of someone with strong organizational and people skills, as well as a proven background to move us forward. I firmly believe that I have demonstrated these qualities as a successful businessman, family man, and community leader. In addition, I have the “fire in the belly” to address the issues that concern our communities bringing to the table business experience, an open mind, and a fresh perspective.

There are several important issues now facing us:

1) The economy and the need for job creation

2) Education

3) Illegal Immigration

4) The cost of owning our property – property taxes and insurance

With your support I will tackle these issues head on, respecting tradition while creating change to better our communities.

People in the 10th District need access to higher wage jobs through a more competitive job market. Many of the counties in the District have annual incomes well below Florida’s average. North Florida has a lot to offer and I intend to take the lead on business recruitment by pushing for incentives to bring more quality jobs to our communities.

No longer can our high schools face unacceptable drop out rates which continue to go unaddressed. Our children must have a solid education to compete in tomorrow's market place. Only through the continued improvement of our current system and a strong investment in our future leaders can we expect to give them the ability to provide for themselves and their families.

Families and small business do not have the ability to keep up with the rate of increase in property taxes and insurance. One of our district’s greatest strengths has been the ability of our residents and small businesses to grow and sustain themselves as Florida’s economy has developed and changed. Government needs to re-focus on the basic services mandated by law.

I have the experience, leadership, and business skills to provide sound organizational and fiscal leadership to the Florida House. I was responsible for statewide operations for the Florida Division of Forestry as Assistant Director and managed over 1,100 employees with a $50 million budget.

For the last 12 years I have built a successful forestry consulting business serving the people of North Florida. Recently, our staff served the community by working cooperatively with the Florida Division of Forestry and the US Forest Service to stop the spread of wild fires that threaten our beautiful forests and homes. My role in the mission has been to serve as “fire boss” on one segment of the wildfires and we have been successful working as a team.

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about why I would like to serve you as your next Florida Representative. I am humbly asking for your vote in the Republican primary on August 26th and the General Election on November 4th. Please sign up if you want to receive more news or are interested in volunteering for my campaign.
